Flying a desk... for now..

Lydia now has her own desk, computer and joystick - thanks to generous donations.

Lydia has transitioned from student to employee and with it comes a lot more responsibilities.

In September she will travel to Bad Neustadt in Germany for further surgery, this time on her hand.

After the surgery she will not only be better equipped to use the computer but also to fly more easily.

Lydia is determined to show that she is a good investment and wants to be an example of success for disabled African girls.

At 10,000 feet, we are all equal

Recently at aero in Friedrichshafen Lydia met with the disabled flying club from Germany.

Encouragement is key when you are the only disabled pilot in your part of the world.

Thanks go to our German rolling flyers for their support and encouragement to Lydia.

Cooking up an interest in Airplanes

Mavis decided she wants to learn about the workshop. What better starting project than the new drop tube assembly. Cleco work, filing, deburring, degreasing and pulling rivets. With a smile as wide as the Atlantic she engrossed herself fully, knowing that the part she is making will help us to change even more lives. ... one flight at a time!

The right photo may change the world...

Since the next phase of our health outreach is to make some very innovative posters using photographs of people who are inspiration to the people in the rural Ghana. Photographs that puts across punchy messages to these communities about staying away from schistosomiasis.

The young ladies in the academy were very enthusiastic on how we should go about the whole concept. Some role models from the Afram plains were invited to the airfield to participate in the photo shooting session for the new posters for their communities.

Perfect flying weather .. for a duck....

The weather continues to keep us back. Over 70mm of rain yesterday has flooded all around us and left the runway like a wet sponge.

It must be the worst flying weather I have experienced in 19 years of experience in this area.

We hope for improvements in the coming weeks
